Marketing planning

A well-marketed business almost always starts with an excellent strategy and a clear plan. There are two reasons for this. Firstly, the act of planning ensures that the right kind of strategic thinking happens. Although this thinking takes place at all times of the year, it's an important discipline to bring all views and insights across the business together for complete reflection at least once a year. For example...

  • What do clients actually want?
  • What are we great at delivering?
  • How is the marketplace changing?
  • What are competitors doing?
  • What else might we start selling?
  • What worked last year in growing the business?
  • Where should the strategic focus be this year?
  • Which target audience is likely to be the best potential customer base?
  • What resources are needed?

The second reason for having a strong marketing plan is to 'make stuff happen'. Most businesses can come up with lots of great ideas for building their client base, but pulling these together into a cohesive campaign which will actually happen is much more difficult.

Oof. Lots to think about.

What we do:

  • help structure and contribute to the thinking process, bringing our knowledge of B2B buying trends
  • sift and choose marketing activities which will achieve the target pipeline results
  • write the marketing plan in a format which you'll find easy to absorb and use (high impact slides? wall posters? formal report? spreadsheet planner and tracker?)
