Designing

Picture of two pencilsDoes communication need to look great to be credible? The short answer is yes. The long answer is also yes – so overall it’s one big yes.

We all make assumptions about the credibility of content, based on its appearance. When Onefish Twofish interviews people for film, we put them on a great looking chair. The thought process is:

  • wow, that’s a cool chair
  • you must be a very cool person
  • the things you are saying must be really clever

Like it or not, most of us are heavily influenced by appearance, not least because the quality of consumer communication around us is so high. Communication in business must compare favourably with what we see as consumers.

So the look and feel of printed material, film, project documentation, marketing collateral etc is very important – even, if you’re a straight-talking, no-nonsense kind of company.
